We are delighted to announce that Kira Vertebra arrives today in Siena as resident artist at the Siena Art Institute! Kira will be in residence for the month of February, creating art and connecting with the city of Siena and SART’s community. Her residency also marks the launch of an exciting new public program series: Meet the Artist.
Meet the Artist
Meet the Artist is a new series of three public events for three Artists-in Residence for the upcoming months. These events are free and open to the public, offering an informal opportunity to connect with our resident artists through conversation and aperitivo. Each gathering will feature a relaxed artist talk followed by time to meet, ask questions, and share ideas over snacks. Through Meet the Artist, Siena Art Institute continues its commitment to fostering dialogue between contemporary artists and the wider Siena community. We invite students, artists, friends, and neighbors to join us in welcoming our Artists-in-residence and take part in the conversation!

About Kira Vertebra
Kira Vertebra is an artist whose oeuvre compellingly delves into the intricate dynamics of human emotion, identity, and existential complexity. Her work transcends conventional artistic boundaries, offering a profound commentary on the interplay between reality and imagination. Kira’s artistic practice is marked by a nuanced sensitivity to the human condition as she deftly navigates themes of love, vulnerability, and the often unspoken depths of the psyche. Her approach is notably both intuitive and reflective, merging personal narrative with broader, universal themes. Kira’s creations function not merely as visual art but as immersive experiences that challenge and engage the viewer on a deeply emotional and intellectual level. Each piece invites a confrontation with the self, prompting an exploration of one’s emotions and perceptions through the lens of her art. Kira Vertebra’s pieces are not only aesthetic objects but also vehicles for profound introspection, fostering a dialogue between the visible and invisible, the conscious and unconscious.
