Suzanne Silver is an Associate Professor in the Painting & Drawing Program in the Department of Art at The Ohio State University. She studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, earned an AB from Smith College, and received an MFA from The Ohio State University. Silver has exhibited nationally and internationally at venues including Contemporary Jewish Museum, David Yellin College in Jerusalem, the Castle of Otranto in Otranto, Italy, Pierogi Gallery, Proteus Gowanus, the Weston Art Gallery in Cincinnati, and the Columbus Museum of Art. Her work has been recognized with an Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award and grants from the Greater Columbus Arts Council and the Virginia Commission for the Arts. Her artist’s book Blacklists/Whitelists was published by Logan Elm Press.Working across drawing, painting, objects, and installation, Silver combines unexpected materials to create a visual language that invites multiple interpretations.
