Shelley Jordon is a Portland-based painter and moving-image artist whose hand-painted animations and mixed-media works explore memory, place, and emotion. Her work has been exhibited and screened internationally, including at the Frye Art Museum, Wexner Center, Lincoln Center, and Radar Hamburg Film Festival, where she won “Best Art and Animation.” She has received fellowships from the Oregon Arts Commission, Ford Family Foundation, and the American Academy in Jerusalem, and holds an MFA from Brooklyn College. Jordon is a Professor of Art at Oregon State University and has held residencies at the American Academy in Rome, Djerassi, Montalvo, and others.
