Sandy Pool

Dr. Sandy Pool is a Canadian writer and Professor of Creative Writing. She has taught in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom, most recently as an Assistant Professor at the University of East Anglia, where she also led a research group in multimodal writing and digital humanities.Her writing explores social justice and feminist themes across poetry, nonfiction, micro-fiction, and theatrical texts, with interests spanning ecopoetics, dramatic and avant-garde performance, hybrid and experimental forms, and space-and-place theory. Her poetry collections Exploding Into Night and Undark: An Oratorio were nominated for major national awards, including the Governor General’s Award and the Trillium Book Award. Her nonfiction essay collection I Love Lucy is represented by Aevitas Creative Management and has received fellowships from Yaddo, the Berton House, and the Dora Maar House, with selections forthcoming in The Walrus.
