Rhianna Adesuwa Ilube is a London-born, New York-based playwright making bold, formally experimental, and community-rooted work. A Juilliard Playwriting Fellow (2025–27) and current Royal Court Writers’ Attachment, her debut play Samuel Takes A Break… premiered at The Yard Theatre and was a finalist for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize. Her follow-up works include 1884-a sold-out immersive game-theatre show about the Berlin Conference, and 81 (Life) at the Almeida Theatre, created with over 60 local performers. Rhianna’s work blends comedy, history, and interactivity, often exploring Black identity and untold histories through innovative forms. A former BFI Flare film programmer and an experienced workshop leader, she holds degrees from Cambridge and Goldsmiths, and continues to develop new writing across theatre, film, and games.
