Harrison David Rivers is an award-winning playwright, librettist, and television writer based in St. Paul, Minnesota. His plays have been produced widely across the U.S. and internationally, including The Bandaged Place at Yale Repertory Theatre and Roundabout Theatre Company, We Are Continuous at Williamstown Theatre Festival, and This Bitter Earth at London’s Soho Theatre, among many others. His work has also been seen at Penumbra Theatre and theaters nationwide. As a librettist, he co-created the musicals We Shall Someday and Last of the Red Hot Mamas. Rivers is a recipient of the Relentless Award and a GLAAD Media Award, with additional nominations from major theater organizations across the country. His television credits include projects for Peacock and HBO, and he has developed work with Hillman Grad Productions. His fellowships and residencies include the Siena Art Institute, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, and New York Theatre Workshop. He is currently under commission from several theaters and from Minnesota Opera.
