Fran Siegel

Fran Siegel is an American artist known for her visionary work with light, perception, and drawing. Fran Siegel’s drawings and installations engage location-based research that traverses landscape, culture, and materiality. Collaged tapestries seam together multiple viewpoints, patterns, time sequences, and surfaces. Her work has been exhibited internationally at institutions including Nuova Icona in Venice, the Center for Contemporary Art in Tel Aviv, Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź, and the IX International Biennial of Cuenca, Ecuador, as well as widely across New York and Los Angeles. Siegel has received fellowships from the Getty California Community Foundation, the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs (C.O.L.A.), the American Academy in Rome, and the Bogliasco Foundation. She earned an MFA from Yale University School of Art and a BFA from Tyler School of Art and is currently a Professor of Art at California State University.
