Ellen Driscoll – Crosswinds
Ellen Altfest is a New York-based realist painter known for thoroughly detailed still lifes and male figure paintings made from life. Her work is recognized for its precision and trompe-l’œil accuracy and draws influence from artists such as Albrecht Dürer, Jackson Pollock, and Lucian Freud. She earned a BFA in Painting and a BA in English from Cornell University, an MFA in Painting from Yale University, and studied at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.
