Amy Yoes is an American artist whose multi-faceted practice spans installation, photography, video, painting, and sculpture. Her work often investigates decorative language and architectural space, drawing on the visual history of ornament, style, and craft aesthetics. One of her major projects, Hot Corners, a multi-room installation, is on view at MASS MoCA in North Adams, Massachusetts through January 2026. Recent projects also include Correspondências, a solo exhibition at the Contemporary Sculpture Museum in Santo Tirso, Portugal, and a series of Fire Projects – complex sculptures built to be burned in choreographed performances before live audiences.Yoes’s ongoing research into craft, architecture, and ornament has been enriched by international travel and research opportunities. She teaches each fall at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and divides her time between Narrowsburg, New York, with her husband, artist Jorge Colombo, and their two cats, Inky and Sharpie. Her work has been shown widely both nationally and internationally, with exhibitions at venues including the Wexner Center for the Arts, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and Galerie Stadtpark in Krems, Austria.
