Alex Bodea is a Romanian-born artist working at the intersection of visual art, journalism, and poetry. A nomadic practitioner based in Berlin and traveling across Europe, she creates minimalist visual reports using drawing and text- both written and spoken-to document urban life, street scenes, and the performing arts. Bodea has collaborated with institutions such as Serralves Foundation, Martin-Gropius-Bau, HAU, Berliner Festspiele, and Deutsche Oper. Her live performances give voice to her drawings, which are designed to be read aloud. She has visually documented artists including Peter Sellars, Benjamin Verdonck, Yevgenia Belorusets, and Karl Ove Knausgård (work-in-progress).
